IET Prestige Lecture and Award Dinner 2018

IET Malaysia Prestige Lecture & Award Dinner (PLAD) was held on 22nd September 2018, organised and hosted by IET PLAD committees at Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. IET Malaysia Prestige Lecture & Award Dinner or in short PLAD is one of the annual events held by IET Malaysia Local Network. This event aimed to create a platform for all Engineers and other professionals in Malaysia to expand their network, besides from gaining industrial knowledge and wisdom from the Prestige Lecture which was delivered by respectable speaker in our country.
IET-USM On Campus was invited to attend to the event. Two of our committees, Mr Cheng Wei Han and Mr Tan Earn Tzeh have represented our committees to attend to the event.

The event pre-started with Cocktail and Networking Session, continued with Video Presentation & Emcee Address. The event was officially started with Welcoming Speech. After the welcoming speech, the event was continued by the Prestige Lecture by Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment & Climate Change, YB Yeo Bee Yin. The climax of the event was Award Nomination. One of the awards given was IET Malaysia Industry Award which aims to recognise companies in Malaysia that has contributed significantly in the engineering field and to the country. Other awards such as IET Malaysia Young Engineering Award, IET Malaysia Women Achievement Award, IET Malaysia Highest Achievement Award and IET Malaysia CEng/ Fellow Recognition were delivered during the Award Nomination. One of our representatives, Mr Tan Earn Tzeh was elected as the Ordinary Committee in Young Professionals Session (YPS) IET 18/19. On top of that, He had also received the IET Leadership Award as an IET Student Leader from IET Malaysia Network.

The event was followed by the performances and Lucky Draw. Performances and Lucky Draw were to entertain and bring the event to the life. Last but not least, the event was ended with a closing ceremony. Congratulations to Mr Tan Earn Tzeh for his achievements and all award recipients and thank you to IET PLAD committee for inviting us to attend to the event.
